There are three parts in this talk. First, I want to talk about the chronology of the overseas Taiwanese Independence (TI) movement. The second part describes the domestic and foreign policies of the Trump administration, since these have a direct bearing on the question: will the US help defend Taiwan should Xi launch an invasion of Taiwan? Lastly, I will talk about Taiwan’s national defense posture and what must be done to keep Taiwan free.
