“It’s one day or day one—you decide.” by Ed Mylett
During my book tour, I said this book was written with one clear goal: to help at least 10 million people in Taiwan live a happy, healthy, and long life—well into the age of 120 and beyond. Now, it’s time to turn that dream into action.
Who is this book for?
It’s for people who feel—or have been told—that they look tired after retirement and those lacking energy they once had.
What is this book?
It’s a science-based, practical guide for people who may be struggling but want to feel alive again. A handbook to help you regain strength , joy, and purpose.
What’s the aim?
To be a lifelong reference—a book you and your loved ones can return to again and again. A gift of knowledge of aging and encouragement to better life styles for your family and friends
How will you achieve that?
By adopting a simple but powerful mindset: you are your own best healer. In this book, I share my personal journey and examples of how to build on three pillars (diet, exercise, and rest)of long life that scientific prove—if I can do it unwaveringly and steadfastly, you can too.
Why this book and Why now?
Because more and more people believe AI like ChatGPT can answer all their health questions. But here’s the truth: artificial intelligence lacks personal experience, face to face conversations.
Before you rely on AI, ask yourself: Is this personalized to me? Will this help my unique health needs?Does this answer come with human understanding?
If the answer is “no,” then don’t follow it blindly. Follow your body. Follow this book.
The Science Behind Living Longer
Our bodies are extraordinary complex in design, but surprisingly simple when viewed through the lens of chemistry and physics. Thanks to decades of scientific discovery, what once seemed impossible—living longer, healthier lives—is now within reach.
This book focuses on the core functions of our bodies, starting from the DNA and cellular level. While DNA holds our genetic blueprint, it’s the cell that brings life to that blueprint. Without active cells, DNA is just a static code. Our cells are what keep us alive—they produce hormones, carry nutrients, deliver oxygen, and transmit electrical signals. When those processes stop, life ends.
That’s why I believe cells—not just genes—should be the center of longevity. we have 40 trillion Cells in our body that is a lot for us to nurture.
DNA may be stable for thousands of years and it lets us trace our ancestry, but it cannot bring life by itself alone. It needs cells to express and interpret it. Since the discovery of the double helix, DNA has become a buzzword—“my DNA is in this,” we say. But we’ve forgotten the very thing that powers that DNA: the cell. The time has come to bring our attention back. This new century belongs to the Cells.
Don’t get me wrong—DNA is still vital. It is the “book of life.” But editing genes is still a developing science, and many different genes contribute to longevity. Since cells are the architects and builders, what we can do now is to train and support our cells and tissues to make the most of our available tools of DNA.
Day One Starts Now
Getting started is the hardest part. But now that you’re holding this book, you’ve already made it over first hurdle. As the old saying goes: “When the students are ready, the teacher appears.” So, are you ready? I know I am.Once the motivation hits, this book will guide you step by step into a longer, healthier, joyful life. We’ll begin with caloric restriction, then move to daily movement, and finally to the importance of quality sleep. When you exercise your body, you sleep better. When you sleep better, you stress less and eat smarter. Those three pillars of youth are connected. This path may take discipline, but it doesn’t have to be painful. As the proverb says: “If you want to walk fast, walk alone. If you want to walk far, walk together.”Let’s walk this journey together toward Fountain of Youth. You’re not alone—I’m with you.
