For decades Taiwan has been under military threat from China, and the safety and security of Taiwan has been a constant concern for Talking Taiwan. That’s why I decided to join the Pen Club’s webinar on April 23: Formosans’ Free Formosa with Jay Loo.
For those who attended the webinar, and other Pen Club members who care about Taiwan’s safety and security, I wanted to share this article which makes the case that China’s gray zone tactics are really a form of warfare and that transparency through intelligence gathering and reporting is an effective form of asymmetric warfare.

The author of this article, Jason Wang, COO of ingeniSPACE, suggests that enabling transparency through Intelligence sharing is the cheapest form of asymmetric warfare against the PRC’s warfare. Also, Taiwan cannot defend itself alone, and First Island Chain nations need to work together to defend themselves from the PRC’s tactics.

After months of deadlock, Taiwan’s current KMT & TPP majority legislature, finally passed a defense budget which is a fraction of the one proposed by President Lai Ching-te. I’m curious to hear others’ opinions on the defense budget that was just passed and more thoughts on how to Keep Taiwan Free and Safe.
