NATMA Ukraine Medical Mission consists of 10 members– 6 departing from Taiwan and 4 from the United States. Their specialties include surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. They will arrive in Warsaw, Poland on the 26th before heading to Kyiv. The team is scheduled to work at a local military hospital for 8 days and will also perform cancer-related surgeries.

Dear Comrades,

With profound solemnity, I wish to share my thoughts with you. As missile and drone attacks on the city of Kyiv continue unabated, the risk of being killed remains ever present.

As the leader of the medical team, I feel an overwhelming sense of responsibility. I have wrestled with the question of whether to go or not. Yet, at the end of the day, our commitment is clear. We hold firmly to the belief: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

In that spirit, we have secured war insurance and notified the United States State Department for the record.

On this eve of our departure, I sincerely urge you to embrace your loved ones and tell them you love them. Rest well. Tomorrow, we are ready.

In Him,
Jung Tsai
